Department Profile

The Department of Physical Examination of Shenzhen Guangming District People’s Hospital was established in April 2018 through the merger of the physical examination centers of the two former campuses. It currently operates two branches at the East and West Campuses respectively. Covering a business area of over 2,000 square meters, the department handles nearly 300,000 physical examinations annually. It ranks as the public hospital physical examination department with the most comprehensive functions, strongest public welfare attributes and largest scale in Guangming District. The center employs more than 60 staff members, including 16 senior professional title holders with a well-balanced staffing structure. Equipped with routine diagnostic equipment for physical checkups, the center features a comfortable environment, rational layout, streamlined procedures and thoughtful services. Relying on the high-quality medical platform of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences Shenzhen Hospital, the health management center offers a full range of physical examination packages to meet diverse screening demands of local residents.

As a co-constructed key medical discipline in the third development cycle of Guangming District, the department serves as a clinical research base for multiple universities and one of the core providers of public medical services within the hospital. In recent years, the department has fully implemented the Healthy China 2030 Outline and supported the rollout of the Healthy China Initiative (2019–2030). By shifting disease prevention forward to early screening, early detection and timely intervention for chronic diseases, the department strives to help local residents stay free from illnesses, reduce disease incidence, delay disease onset and suffer only mild ailments, so as to improve their quality of life and extend healthy life expectancy.

Staff Composition

All professionals in our department come from frontline clinical practice with extensive clinical experience, forming a strong team consisting of senior specialists, core physicians and specialized nurses. At present, the team includes 10 specialists with senior professional titles, 12 attending physicians and a number of full-time nurses. Teams for ultrasonography, internal medicine, surgery, gynecology and occupational physical examinations are all led by senior specialists, who provide personalized pre-examination consultation, professional in-examination screening and targeted post-examination advice, delivering professional, reliable and considerate health management services for all clients.

Service Scope

Backed by the hospital’s premium medical resources, our department provides a full spectrum of services including general health examinations, occupational health screenings, physical examinations for industry practitioners, driver’s license physicals and on-site home physical checkups. All test items are completed jointly by the physical examination department and relevant clinical departments of the hospital, guaranteeing standardized quality consistent with public hospital standards. Meanwhile, the center offers priority green medical access and online reservation services for selected physical examination programs. Leveraging information technology, the department will deliver more efficient, convenient and humanized services to all clients in the future.

Supporting Equipment

To guarantee service quality, the hospital has introduced a full array of advanced equipment for the center, including MRI scanners, dual-source spiral CT scanners, digital X-ray machines, dedicated mobile physical examination vehicles, color Doppler ultrasound systems, bone densitometers, pulmonary function testers, audiometry booths, ENT treatment stations, slit lamps, intraocular pressure monitors, automatic non-mydriatic fundus cameras, body composition analyzers, arteriosclerosis detectors, meridian detectors for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and TCM constitution identification analyzers.
